He was predeceased by: his parents, William Russell Swanson and Lida Belle Swanson; his siblings, Jim, Furman, Ruth Kincaid, Ila Bolick, Martha Setzer and Margaret Debrowski; and his children, Russell Swanson and Nancy Eskins.
He is survived by: his sibling Merle Harris of North Carolina; and his children, Steve of Fincastle, Banks of Woodstock and Juanita Cline (Jerry) of Waynesboro. He is also survived by Grandchildren (15); Great grandchildren (32); and Great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Fishersville Baptist Church, 1518 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville, VA 22939, Hospice of the Shenandoah, PO Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939, and the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, 201 W. Broad St., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
