He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Howard Lee Sumpter and Annette Lee Sumpter of Daleville; his wife Sandy Toler Sumpter; his children, Kyle Sumpter (Elizabeth Guarino) of Daleville, Andrew Doss (Kristin) of Woodbridge, Jason Doss (Serita) of Roanoke and Carly Sumpter (Faraz Khan) of Salem; his sisters, Becky Adamson (Ned) of Harrisonburg and Marie Strom (Greg) of Roanoke County; and his nieces, Svetlana Adamson of Harrisonburg, Maria Adamson of Harrisonburg and Lindsay Vantine (Corey) of Winchester.
