Derek; his daughter-in-law Tonya Ballard of Fincastle; his daughter Tasha; his son-in-law Jessie Lacks of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Tiffany Bennett of Buchanan, Xander Lacks of Roanoke, Emily, Ethan and Elana Ballard of Fincastle; his brother Alan Hipes of Salem; and his cousins, Terry Vaughn and Dale Vaughn (Gerry).
