He was predeceased by: his parents, Moses Finney and Mary Hagwood Finney; and his siblings, Dollie Marie Staples, Moses Finney, Jr., David Finney and John Finney.
He is survived by: his wife Nina Helms Hairston Finney; his children, Jessica Barner (Toby) and Marcus Hairston (Mimi); and his sisters, Bessie Oliver and Almarine Martin. He is also survived by four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
