He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Merriman; his children, Elizabeth Merriman Dudley (Hugh) and Jeff Merriman; his grandchildren, James Merriman, Jennifer Merriman, Anthony Merriman and Dale Merriman; his great grandchildren, Christian Pierce and Logan Pierce; and his sister Suzie Wooten (Butch).
