She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernice "Bun" Richards and Dorothy Radford Richards; her husband Douglas Pigg; her sister Ardena Atkins; her niece Paula Sanders; and her nephews, David Sanders and Jonathan Atkins.

She is survived by: her son Robert "Bobby" Maxie; her grandsons, Derrick Eugene Maxie and Dustin Gerald Maxie; her sisters, Lois, Diann and Velma (Ronnie); and her nieces and nephews, Samantha and Dale. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Henry Memorial Park (8443 Virginia Ave, Bassett, VA 24055).
