He was predeceased by: his parents, James Young and Ida Bowie Young; his wife Mary Womack Young; his siblings, Helen, Doris, Evelyn Young, Jane Doe, Marie Thompson, Thelma Garner, James, Francis and Joseph Young; and his son-in-law Robert Gould.
He is survived by: his children, Joanne Gould, Sean Smith Sr., Michael Young (Alexandria), Clifford Womack (Arlene) and Jean Womack Cook (Eric); his grandchildren, Lyneese Cruz, Paris Young, Sean Smith Jr., Sydney Young Awoudi and Brandon Womack; his great grandchildren, Neyko and Harper; his sibling Thomas Young (Tommy); and his siblings-in-law, Bruce Johnson, Clara Johnson and Bernice Redd. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Jericho Baptist Church (615 Franklin St, Farmville, VA 23901). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at the St. Andrews Baptist Church Cemetery (2100 Taro Rd, Cullen, VA 23934).
