He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Ford and Alice Wright. He is survived by: his stepfather Percy Wright; his children, Steve Marshall of Ap, Joseph Pollard and Toni Pollard of Lynchburg, VA.; his siblings, Ollie and Dana; and his nephew James "Roosevelt".
