He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Metcalf and Katherine H. Metcalf; and his wife Judy S. Metcalf. He is survived by: his sons, Robert Shawn Metcalf (Jessica) and Jonathan Brian Metcalf (Carol); his stepdaughters, Margaret Dawson (Dan) and Tammy Hines (Donnie); and his grandchildren, Shane, Trevor, Kirsten Metcalf, Joshua, Benjamin Dawson and Harley Garrett.

Memorial contributions may be made to Southside SPCA or Rice Volunteer Fire Department.
