He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ann Brandt Shanaberger; his brother Samuel Shanaberger of Sarasota, FL; his children, Steven Shanaberger (Sandy) of Reidsville, NC, Jeff Shanaberger of Farmville, VA, Gary Shanaberger of Altavista, VA and Jeanne Hayden of Farmville, VA.; his son-in-law Douglas Farley of Rice, VA.; his grandchildren, Shay Farley, Tiffany Capati, Adrian Hayden, Mark Farley, Kirsten Irby, Derek Shanaberger, Kara Stultz, Kyle Shanaberger, Leah Reed and Caleb Shanaberger; his great grandchildren, Zoe, Brandt Farley, Jaden, Kiley, Roman Capati, Porter, Elias Reed, Evan, Jonah, Grant Stultz, Brynn, Garrett Shanaberger, Hayden and Silas Irby; and his great great grandchild Brooklyn Capati.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Farmville United Methodist Church, the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad, or the American Legion, Post 32.
