He is survived by: his children, Mary Katherine Smith of Warrenton, Hannah Wilson Smith of Roanoke, Virginia., George Nelson Wilson IV (Terri Atkins Wilson) of Farmville and Victoria Wilson Najjar (Dilan); his grandchild Artemis Gayle Najjar of Staunton, Virginia; and his sons, Zachary Atkins Wilson of Farmville, Virginia and Nicholas Hart Wilson (Elaine Marie Wilson) of Chesterfield, Virginia.
