Claudine J. Yates Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Claudine J. Yates in Farmville, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 4, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Greatless Washington and Maria Washington; her siblings, Edward Washington, Frances Little and Vivian Staten; and her grandson Shaun Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Lorenzo Johnson of Crewe, VA and Darrell Yates of Crewe, VA; her sister Alma Dodson of Blackstone, VA; her grandchildren, Lorenzo Deshawn, Lakeysha, Codarrell, Dawarren, Demar, Jalen and Daryeonna; and her close friend Leroy Spencer. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; nine nieces; three nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the W. E. Hawkes and Son Funeral Home (504 East St, Blackstone, VA 23824). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the New Bethel Baptist Church (4758 The Falls Rd, Crewe, VA 23930).
