With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bonnie Vernon Smith of Farmville, Virginia, born in South Boston, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 25, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Irvin and Mary Dickerson Vernon; her sister Christine Vernon; her nephew Phillip Waskey; her great-niece Tina Boze; and her daughter Bonita Lynn Smith.
She is survived by: her brothers, William Irvin Vernon Jr. (Bonnie Dawson Vernon) and Grady (Joan Ridgeway Vernon) of Alton; her granddaughter Bonnie; her brother-in-law Curtis Smith (Brenda Smith) of Brookneal; her husband L. Ronald Smith (Ron); her son Ronald Craig Smith (Sheri Hardiman Smith); her grandsons, Ryan Craig Smith (Virginia) of Churchville and Chase Hunter Smith (Mekaela Kaplan Smith); her great grandchild Lowndes of Crozet, Virginia.; her daughter Cynthia Dawn Smith-Marshall (Steve) of Virginia Beach; her grandsons, Garrett Preston Marshall (Laura) and Nathaniel Caleb Marshall; her caregivers, Tracy, Teresa, Megan and Annie; and also Myron Smith of South Boston, Virginia.. She is also survived by children and grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Concord Baptist Church (12053 Francisco Rd, Farmville, VA 23901). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM at the same location.
