He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Garnett Lewis Rakes, Eldon Horton and Arlene Horton; and his aunt Vicky Rakes. He is survived by: his parents, Garnett Lee Rakes of Fancy Gap and Faye Stoneman of Kernersville, NC; his stepfather Larry Stoneman of Kernersville, NC; his brother Chris Rakes of Galax; his sister-in-law Jennifer Rakes of Galax; his sister Rachel Rakes of Hillsville; his grandparents, Irene Rakes of Hillsville and Sandra Horton of Fancy Gap; his nephews, Tyler Rakes of Galax and Chanson Rakes of Galax; his uncle Gary Horton of Fancy Gap; his aunt Susan Horton of Fancy Gap; and his cousins, Laura Horton and Audra Horton.
