He is survived by: his wife Darlene Freeman; his children, Kristy Freeman, Kevin Freeman of Fancy Gap, Virginia and Josh Freeman of Pilot Mountain; his stepmother Leona Freeman of Fancy Gap, Virginia; and his brothers, James Alan (Angela Freeman) of Mt. Airy and Terry Freeman of Mt. Airy. He is also survived by four half-sisters; one step-brother; one half-brother; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
