He was predeceased by: his parents, Posey Clarence Fariss and Delphia Goad Fariss; his stepmother Gloria Fariss; and his siblings, Robert Edwin Fariss (Josh) and Idell Browder.
He is survived by: his wife Shelby J. Fariss; his children, Earl Dean Baskett (Patty), Shelly Baskett Shelton, Tonya Fariss Haun (Gus Vitale), Eddie Lee Fariss and Vickie Fariss Earl (Robert); his siblings, Dorthy Hill, Judith Edwards and Clifford Fariss (Judy); his grandchildren, Timmy Baskett (Andy), Leslie P. Shelton IV (Laura), Echo Baskett, Andrew Shelton and Marley Fariss (Ian Isom); and his great grandchildren, Camille Brown, Leslie P. Shelton, Scarlette Isom and Freya Baskett.
