He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest L. Heffinger and Louise Taylor Heffinger; his wife Connie Belle Burton Heffinger; and his siblings, Joe Heffinger, Imogene Pauley Corvin and Norma Bowman.

He is survived by: his children, Angela Ruble (Rodney), Richard Heffinger (Patricia) and April Ball (Karl); his grandchildren, Camilla Belle Ball, Waylon Ruble, Briana Baldridge (Robert) and Benjamin Lamie (Jordan); and his siblings, Pete Heffinger (Kay), Dorothy Garibay (Dottie), Evelyn Gillespie, Sue Barker (Wayne) and Elsie Hale (Rex). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
