He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ly Thanh Lieng and Nguyen Thi Lien; his wife Pham Thi Thanh-Tan (Christine); his daughter-in-law Michelle Rounds Ly; his son Raymond (Michelle); his grandsons, Rémy and Xavier; and also, Dr. Norman and Peggy Rounds. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and friends.
