She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard I. Barnes, Sr. and Julia Barnes (Phalen); and her brother Richard Barnes, Jr. (Nancy). She is survived by: her children, Ronald W. Thomas (Shelly) of Newport, NC, Renee M. Brooks (Randy) of Silver Spring, MD, Marla K. Brunell (Eric Gustafson) of Clifton, VA and Matthew R. Thomas (Katja) of Silver Spring, MD.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
