He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Edmison and Sarah Edmison; his siblings, Hilda L. Deeter and Kenneth R. Edmison; and his son Brian Edmison.

He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Susanne Carmack of Spokane, WA; his nephew Kenneth R. Edmison, Jr. of Blacksburg; and his friend Vera Yancey.
