He is survived by: his children, Christine, Katherine and Spiro; his wife Irene; his daughter-in-law Julia Young; and his grandchildren, Theo, Helen and Athena Roiniotis.

In his latter years, George developed Parkinson's disease, which was challenging for him both physically and emotionally.
