We are sad to announce that on May 14, 2023, at the age of 85, Edward James Monroe in Falls Church, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Monroe and Clarice Tollund; and his siblings, Robert Monroe and Joanne Martin. He is survived by: his wife Joye Gesner; his children, James (Joelle) and Julie Byrd; his brothers, Alan (Melinda), Thomas (Donna) and David (Susan); his grandchildren, Christina Downing (Paul), Noah Byrd, Emmalynn, Jacob and Elliott Monroe; his great grandchild Jaxon Downing; and his brother Michael Tutu.

Memorials may be given to The Edward Monroe Library at Grace Baptist Church, Madison WI.
