He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Alberta Price Patterson and Ira Claude Patterson, Sr.; his son Samuel Dewey Patterson, Jr.; and his brothers, Ira Claude Patterson, Jr., Terry Patterson and Jimmy Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Ellen Patterson of Fairlawn; his children, Kathy Patterson of Dublin, Karen Murray of Fairlawn and Adam Phillips; his sister Linda P. Hurley of Tampa; his sister-in-law Joann Patterson of Richmond, VA; his brother Billy Patterson of Lakeland, FL.; and his grandchildren, Stone Michael Murray, Abigail Rose Murray and Serra Lynn Patterson.
