He is survived by: his wife Juliana "Julia" Oliver Simmers; his sons, Garnett "Eddie" Simmers Jr. (Mendy), Kelly Simmers (Rachel) and Daryn Simmers (Ashley); his grandchildren, Carter Simmers, Kailee Simmers, Lillian "Lilli" Simmers and Grant Simmers; and his siblings, Benjamin "Benny" Simmers Sr., Gary "Steve" Simmers and Carolyn Glade.
