As Mary Payne departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mary Payne may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mary Payne leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband William L Franklin; her parents, Flora Shahan Payne and John T Payne; her sister Stella Spicknall; and her niece Mary Yurkovich.
She is survived by: her niece Anne Spicknall; and her nephew John Spicknall.
During Covid, Mary moved to a friend's house in Kingstown, where she thrived on all of the personal attention, especially fire trucks visiting for each birthday celebration.
