Larry and Linda McDuffee wrote a sympathy message

“In loving memory of James Barnabas Young, With deepest sympathies. We met them when we visited our daughter in Rockville. We loved hearing Jay preach. They had us in their home for delicious meals numerous times. They stayed with us in Tennessee. We love both of them. Jay truly was a servant of God. He was a missionary, preacher, evangelist, example. We thank God for their example and friendship.”

Tom Lowery wrote a sympathy message

“Not many have been able to live up to their name. Jay was one of the few. He embodied the book of JAMES as one whose life of faith was backed up by his work for the kingdom. He was the ultimate Son of Encouragement, BARNABAS, in his preaching, teaching and his interaction with everyone he met especially those within the household of faith. We know he is resting in our Lord awaiting his final reward. That in itself is his last word of encouragement for us all to keep the faith.”

Debra Christine Nichols wrote a sympathy message

“Jay and Pierra were so kind when my mother and I began visiting the Rockville of Christ. My mother was ill but was absolutely capitivated by his sermon about a mouse. And, he always had a kind word or a prayer for her. His advice was always helpful. I enjoyed sharing news about friends we had in common. I am glad and proud to have known Jay.”

Rudolph Vacek wrote a sympathy message

“Jay was one of the outstanding of all the preachers that served at Rockville. He greatly influenced the lives of Freda and myself, and many others throughout the years we knew him. He was a faithful servant of our Lord and he can now look forward to those rewards, in heaven, that he truly deserves. His influence and labors for the lord reached far beyond the pulpit.”

“I am absolutely heartbroken to hear of Jay's passing. My husband Don and myself came to him often for various problems over the years and he even was gracious enough to officiate at Don's funeral at the last minute. He will be sorely missed. We loved him so.”
