Richard Allen Curtis Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Allen Curtis of Fairfax Station, Virginia, who passed away on February 27, 2022 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius C Curtis and Florence Pritchard Curtis. He is survived by: his son Tyler (Alyson); his wife Jane; his daughter Charlotte (Mariana Valencia) of Brooklyn, NY; his grandsons, Owen and Daniel of Durham, NC; and his siblings, Eugene (Angela) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Patricia (Wade Apple) of Burlington, NC..

On the same day much of the country shut down due to COVID-19, he endured major surgery followed by participation in an important study on immunotherapy, and multiple rounds of chemotherapy, while never straying from his ultimate goal of buying himself more time with his friends and family.

Richard's wish was, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to either of two organizations close to his heart.
