He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Williams Fitchett; his parents, James Milton Fitchett and Mary Elizabeth Isdell Fitchett; his son Woodrow Edward Fitchett, Jr.; and his siblings, James Milton Fitchett, Jr., Robert Fitchett and Evelyn Isabella Fitchett.
He is survived by: his children, Isabelle Fitchett of Painter, VA, Thomas Powers (Diane) of Jamesville, VA and E. J. Powers (Heather) of Painter, VA; and his siblings, Barbara Fitchett Johnson of Cedarview, VA and Thomas Fitchett (Charlotte) of Accomack County, VA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
