She was predeceased by: her parents, Brooks Phillips and Anna Jorden Phillips; and her husband Fletcher Hickman. She is survived by: her son Ben Byrd, Jr. (Peggy) of Wachapreague; her grandchildren, Brooke Joynes and Benjamin Byrd III; and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Mason Joynes and Benjamin Byrd IV.
