She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel C. Ashby and Genevieve Startt Ashby; and her brothers, Samuel C. Ashby, Jr. and Owen Startt Ashby. She is survived by: her children, Pamela Dawn Bush (Tom) of Maryville, TN, Beverly Ashby Steffey of Durham, NC, Richard Gerald Steffey, Jr. (Sibhaluck) of Spearfish, SD and Brian James Steffey (Shelly) of Gastonia, NC.. She is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
