He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Branson Joseph Kellam and Florence Manley Kellam; his former wife Joyce Kelley Kellam; and his siblings, Dorothy K. Rhodes, Barbara K. Morrell and George E. Kellam.

He is survived by: his wife Sue Waters Kellam; his children, Dr. Lloyd J Kellam III (Kathy) of Onley, VA, Kevin K. Kellam (Marilyn Kellam) of Cape Charles, Ellen Mapp Kellam of Onancock, VA and Robert B. Kellam of Arlington, VA; his grandchildren, Katie Kellam Moores (Aaron), Meredyth K. Savage and Sylvie T. Leshen; and his great grandchild Hunter Patrick Moores.
