He was predeceased by: his parents, Golden Edward Ward, Sr. and Lola Ashby Ward; and his brothers, Elmer Ward, Herbert Ward, Sr. and Eddie Ward.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Helen Miller Ward; his son Dennis Ward (Vicki) of Raleigh, NC; and his granddaughter Summer Rose Ward of Raleigh. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
