He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart Elmer Sturgis, Jr. and Marion Fletcher Sturgis; and his siblings, Jack Sturgis, Glen Sturgis, Robert Sturgis and Ann Sturgis Bruner.
He is survived by: his wife Faye H. Sturgis; his daughters, Heidi Sturgis Zecher (David Zecher) of Herndon, VA and Lee Sturgis O'Neill (David O'Neill) of Keezletown, VA.; his grandchildren, Joseph Zecher, Sophia Zecher, Isaiah O'Neill and Miranda O'Neill; and his sister Marilyn Sturgis Loftis (Gary Loftis) of Virginia Beach, VA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Doughty Funeral Home (3117 Main St, Exmore, VA 23350).
