He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert L. Langdon and Madeline K. Langdon; his son Roger Neal Simpson; and his parents-in-law, Clyde B. and Inez T. King.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Simpson; his sons, Gene F. Simpson, Jr., Barry K. Simpson, Henry Dean Carter and Darrin L. Carter; and his sister Lorraine P. Edmonson.
