He was predeceased by: his parent Charlie Brooks; his stepson Eddie Wyres; and his nephew Terry Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Freda Brooks; his daughter Betty Boldman of Arcadia, FL; his granddaughter Stacy Peasley of Bowersville, OH; his brother Arvin Brooks (Trula) of Jonesville, VA; and his brother-in-law Elza "Bud" Yeary (Bernice) of Whitesburg, TN.
