He was predeceased by: his parents, Maggie and Robert; and his siblings, Fugate, Elmer, Hugh, Jean, Opal and Cleo.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Melinda and Charles; his grandchildren, Aaron, Alexandra, Catherine, Elizabeth, Grace, Sarah, Gabriel and Christian; and his sister Alice Brooks of Maynard, Tennessee.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
