He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Barnes and Elizabeth Ayers Barnes; his wife Marie Sandifer Barnes; his children, Terry Barnes and Glenda Kay Barnes; and his granddaughter Mandy Kay Barnes.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Adkins (Paul) of Middlesboro, KY, Faye Robinson (Keith) of Ewing, VA, Kay Linda Pauley (Tom) of Ewing, VA, Dennis "Bo" Barnes and Kenneth Barnes; and his daughter-in-law Martha Barnes of Ewing, VA.. He is also survived by two brothers; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
