Burks Sr. of Evington, Virginia, born in Madison Heights, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 28, 2024 at the age of 91. He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin F. Burks, Sr. and Rachel Burks; his wife Mildred E. Burks; his sons, Jeffrey Burks and William Burks, Jr.; his grandson Stephen Bailey; and his siblings, Ben F. Burks, Jr., Preston E. Burks and Frances Millner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Wanda Bailey (Arnie) and Michele Fix (Tony). He is also survived by four grandsons; two granddaughters; three great grandsons; seven great granddaughters and seven step great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Calvary Cross Baptist Church, 1700 James Street, Lynchburg VA 24501.
