He was predeceased by: his parents, David Ward and Mary Patterson Ward; his wife Mary Yuille Patterson; and his brothers, James, David, Clyde, Isaiah and Henry.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tracie Patterson Robinson (Howard) and Leslie Patterson Nowlin; his grandchildren, Osby Lee Nowlin II (Trena), Letitia Gabrielle Coleman, Dennis Ray Charlton II and Malik Jordan Nowlin; and his great grandchild Emily Young. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
