He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dewey Murray, Jr. and Evelyn Mae Smith Murray. He is survived by: his wife Temple Lynn Hitt Murray; his children, Melissa Jones (Kelvin), Sara Beth Murray (Russel), Jay Murray (Christy) and Justin Murray (Robyn); his siblings, Bucky Murray (Diane) and Stephanie Murray (Gerald); his aunts, Lois Berry (Tommy) and Barbara Cochran; and his grandchildren, Akyshia Brown-Kaleopaa (Uyurre), Kabren Jones, Aubrey Murray, Abigail Murray and Blake Murray.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel (59 Edgewood School Ln, Madison, VA 22727). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Etlan Community Church (217 Church Hill Rd, Etlan, VA 22719).
