He was predeceased by: his parents, James Neverson and Roberta Rush (Brooks); his siblings, John, Douglas, James, Robert Rush, Sarah Scott, Louise Swain, Daisy Gray, Florence Dillard and Catherine Dillard; his former wife Agnes Louise Rush; his sons, James McKinley and John "Shorty" Rush; his grandson John Simpson; and his great grandchild Quintus Brooks.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Andre Thomas and William Bill Anderson; his wife Jacqueline Payne-Rush; his brother Walker Rush; his sister-in-law Birdean Rush; his children, Patricia Brooks (Larry), William Rush (Patricia), Philistine Davis, Geneva Rush, Pearl Rush and Patrick Rush; and his stepchild Torrey Payne (Crystal). He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends.
