He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmer Carroll and Gertie Florence McDaniel (Shifflett); his siblings, Herbert McDaniel, Floyd McDaniel, Otis McDaniel, Thomas McDaniel, William McDaniel, Thelma Morris, Mable Kingrea and Emigene Collier; and his close friend Kermit Roberts.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Mae McDaniel (Morris); his children, Raymond Nelson McDaniel, Jr. (Melissa), Crystal K. Craig (Jeff) and Christine M. Worley (Scott); his grandchildren, Cole, Austin, Summer Craig, Abigail, Joshua and Matt Worley; his sister Christine Robb; and his close friends, Nelson Shifflett, Robert Hogue, Kenny McDaniel, Pete McDaniel and Tippy McDaniel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Memorial Gardens (3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22911).
