He was predeceased by: his brothers, Howard Zach Brooks, Oley Lee Brooks and Thomas Phillip Brooks (Tookie). He is survived by: his daughter Linda Brooks Joyner (Michael Joyner); his grandchildren, Christopher Channing Kinsey and Kayla Samantha Kinsey; his great grandchildren, Samyrah Moten, Xavier Moten, Kyleigh Kinsey and Makailyn Moten; and his siblings, Belle D. Rush, Lacy E. Brooks (Linda Brooks) and David N. Brooks.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church (7725 Porters Rd, Esmont, VA 22946).
