It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lucy Jane Moseley Daniel of Emporia, Virginia, who passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Arthur Daniel; her great grandchild Jason "Baby Jason" Smith, Jr.; and her sisters, Blonnie Stotesbury, Ethel Jones and Hazel Ezell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Valerie Merricks (Mike Sloan), Carolyn Dorsey (Michael) and Rita Johnson (Randy); her grandchildren, Jason Smith, Tonya Bryant (Frankie) and Brian Johnson (Tracey); her great grandchildren, Stevie Smith, Nikolas Bryant, Natalie Bryant, Kayleigh Smith, Nicholas Temple, Gracey Temple and Ayden Speight; and her siblings, Betty Lett, Hattie Baird, Virginia Clary, George Moseley (Christiana) and Robert Moseley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Independence United Methodist Church Cemetery (4438 Independence Church Rd, Emporia, VA 23847).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Independence Cemetery Fund and may be mailed to 5334 Dry Bread Road Emporia, VA 23847.
