It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude English Jones (Emporia, Virginia), who passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Freeman Hugh Jones Sr.; her parents, Mary Jane Metcalf English and William Henry English; and her siblings, Milton English, Carl English, Mafra Kate English Moore, Luther Tom English, Lela English Hampton, Nova English Shook, Herman H English, Carrie English Luther, Nola English Dill and R. Manley.
She is survived by: her daughter Jane Lilley (Ed); her grandson Brandon; her son Freeman Hugh Jones Jr.; her grandchildren, Matthew and Kayla; her daughter Jennifer Jones; her nephew Jim Luther (Becky); and her niece Cheryl Adams (Jerry). She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
