Elsie Louise Wesson Rice Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 30, 2025, at the age of 84, Elsie Louise Wesson Rice (Emporia, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilson T. Wesson and Dorothy S. Wesson; her siblings, Linda Soles and Scott Wesson; and her son Tim Rice.
She is survived by: her husband James Rice; her children, Terri Anderson (Todd) and Steve Rice (Wendy); her daughter-in-law Joy Rice; her grandchildren, Jenny Johnson (Cecil), Derek Rice (Roberta), Nick Rice (Brianna), Christopher Anderson and Catherine Slayton (Dylan); her great grandchildren, Olivia, Jax, Lily, Carter, Colby, Zach and Rebecca; and her sisters-in-law, Judie Thompson (Bill) and Joan Rice (late Jerry). She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (310 N Main St, Emporia, VA 23847).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
