He was predeceased by: his mother Louise; his wife Linda Tyler Powell; and his siblings, Joe Robinson, Freddie Robinson Sr., Walter Robinson, Thomas Robinson, Reverend Jimmy Robinson, Sallie R. Smith, Annie Claiborne, Onnie Claiborne and Helen Pair.
He is survived by: his children, Edwin Tyler of Hampton, Virginia, LaShonda Brown (Stanley) and LaWanda Powell; his friend Don Nelson; his grandchildren, Brianna Tyler, LaNiyah Brown, Vidal Nelson and Mason Nelson; his siblings, Cathy Williams of Emporia, Kevin McKeiver of Baltimore and Samuel Robinson Sr. (Michael) of Emporia, Virginia.; his siblings-in-law, Russell Tyler of Richmond, Virginia, Perry Tyler of Richmond, Virginia, Ernestine Moore of Petersburg, Gertrude Lawson (Larry) of Plainfield, Lillian Manning of Emporia and Carolyn Jones (Thomas) of Emporia; and his friends, Annie Lee, Ronnie Moss and Glen Powell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
