He was predeceased by: his parents, William Earl and Ruby Richardson Smith; and his sister Linda Dawn Smith. He is survived by: his wife Judith Grady Smith; his children, Gina Dawn, Jack Reed, Jr., Bethany Anne, Dennis Epperly, John Eric and Mary Smith; and his grandchildren, Jack Eugene Reed, III (Jay), Christopher Eric Smith and Meredith Jane Anne Smith.
