It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Chapman Powell of Elkton, Virginia, born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, who passed away on May 7, 2021, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Linwood Chapman Powell and Helen "Clarice" Berry Powell; his brother-in-law Timothy Michael Lam; and his mother-in-law Fay L. Whitmer. He is survived by: his wife Beth Mowbray Powell; his sister Carla Dawn Powell of Elkton; his stepdaughter Shanda Northrup (Eric) of Elkton; his grandchildren, Layton, Luke, Braelyn and Brennex; his father-in-law Frank Whitmer, Jr.; his siblings-in-law, Frankie Whitmer (Patty) and Donna Shifflett (Gary); and his pets, Buford, Patty Cake and Nick Campbell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Facial coverings and social distancing will be required for the health of others.
