It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Ann Downey of Elkton, Virginia, who passed away on May 20, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Breeden and Elva Breeden; her former husband Randolph Shifflett; her daughter Wanda "Faye" Angle; her grandson Nathan Scott Downey; her daughter-in-law Donna Shifflett; and her sister Fonda Lou Painter.
She is survived by: her husband Forrest Downey of Elkton; her stepmother Linda Vance Breeden of Shenandoah; and her children, Danny Shifflett (Sherry) of Elkton, Dennis Shifflett of Elkton, Randolph "Randy" Shifflett (Debbie Roach) of Elkton, David "Scott" Downey (Jill) of Elkton, Mary Taylor (Richard) of Elkton, Lori Leathers of Harrisonburg and Angel Price (Michael) of Elkton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild as well as numerous nieces, nephews.
